January 7, 2012 - "Queen Martha's Birthday Party" What a wonderful time we all had celebrating our Queen Martha's birthday at PF Chang's. The food and service were great and even the manager came by to say happy birthday to our queen. We were delighted that her mother, Edith, and her daughter, Lisa, could join us. After making a big dent in the birthday cake, we caravaned to "Charmin' Charlie's" in Fairfax Mall where we received a nice discount on all the items we bought. |

December 4, 2011 - "Christmas Tea at the Historic Silas Burke" Tea and tour at the historic Silas Burke House, Burke VA Our hostess, Suzie, grew up in the Silas Burke House and told us all she could remember about the house and era. We got to take a tour of the house built in 1824 as well. The tea was lots of fun and each guest got to take home a small nutcracker. Everyone enjoyed the gift exchange at end of the tea too. |

November 12, 2011 - "Medieval Bunco Party" and Quest for the "Holey Veil." What great fun we had playing bunco and then trying to find the "Holey Veil.". The lucky winner was June. Many of the ladies dressed up in their medieval clothes. During the 'knightly' ceremony, Vice Queen Fran became Lady Fran of Hanover. Queen Marthur's castle was so believable with the walls, banners, dungeon, dragons, shields, swords and everything else she put her heart and soul into this great theme of hers. Bunco was fun and her clues for the quest for the "holey" (yes it was) veil was great fun. Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Oh Queen Marthur, we are on our bended knee upon your beautiful red velvet trimmed with ermine, filled with gratitude. |

October 22, 2011 - "Ghouls' Nite Out!" We had an early dinner at Mimi's Cafe in Gainesville before going to the Haunted Hallow in Warrenton. Dinner included salad or soup, an entree, and dessert for a fixed price. Most of the ParTEA Dolls showed up wearing a witch costume so judging the "best witch" wasn't easy. The most original costume was worn by Alexa who came as a "real ghost" -spooky and ugly. The haunted farm experience known as Haunted Hollow was conducted by Japal Ag Ed, Inc. (check out their website at www.hauntedhollowva.com). We had our own personal guide (who rose from a coffin to greet us). During the tour, we experienced intense audio and lighting, extreme low visibility, strobe lights, fog, damp or wet conditions, uneven footing and a physically demanding environment. |

August 13, 2011 - "Caribbean themed Pool Party at Pat's" Though the rain fell and the sun didn't want to shine, some of the Dolls braved the weather to enjoy the pool, drank some really exotic "made up by the Dolls" Caribbean drinks and ate cool salads, caribbean pork and sorbets. Those who didn't want to go into the pool played the LRC (left, right, center) dice game - each having brought a roll of nickels. Jeri was the big winner and got to take home a bowl of nickels. Val was the winner of the "made up" exotic drink. |

New granny-to-be Sheryl Iovanna is expecting a grandson, Max, in early August. Light refreshements/dessert were provided by the Queen's court. After opening the gifts, we played a new game called LCR Dice. At the end of the day, the winner was our newest member Charlotte Large. |

May 14, 2011 -- "Pinkadilly Tea Room at The Smythe's Cottage" Pinkadilly Tea is a full service Tea Room and Gift Shop located in the historical district of downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia, in what was once The Smythe's Cottage at 303 Fauquier Street. Nestled in history and brimming with charm, Pinkadilly Tea is quaint, cozy and filled with ambience - the perfect setting for a private party or a nice, relaxing afternoon treat. The front door was pink and the service was great. We enjoyed a Queen Elizabeth afternoon tea of soup of the day, quiche, warm scones with lemon curd and devonshire cream, little sandwiches and petite desserts. |

March 5, 2011 -- "Mardi Gras" at Okra's True New Orlean's style decorations and cuisine with a fabulous menu to fit everyone's budget, great service, dolls dressed in Mardi Gras attire along with lots of talking and laughter was the order of the day. Kathi Hall won the prize for the best Mardi Gras attire - ooh those stockings. Lorranie, a guest, won for the best mask with feathers out to .... |

February 13, 2011 -- "Love Theme " Bunco at Pat's We gathered at Pat's for an afternoon of making Valentine cards for residents of a nursing home in Manassas followed by an italian luncheon of lasagna, ziti, salad, and dessert. As usual, bunco was more talking, laughing, and yelling bunco (with Holly yelling the most) than playing but we managed to get in a dozen games before the 4pm curfew. |

January 22, 2011 -- Rock and Roll Poker at Martha's What a fun time was had by all. Elvis showed up and led us in the 'Hand Jive" contest; Kathi Hall was our winner. Mindi Obi won the bubble gum blowing contest with a really big bubble. Poodle skirs and saddle shoes and neckscarves and headbands were the attire of the day. We listened to rock and roll music while playing and ate pizza and drank root beer floats. We did manage to get in a number of Texas Hold 'Em games as well. |
